FC Schalke 04 and VELTINS - The groundbreaking sponsorship started in July 1997. Back then, the first contract was signed between private bewery C. & A. VELTINS and the local, traditional club. From then on, the Sauerland Pils brand was emblazoned on the shirts of the blue and whites.
There are good reasons why the cult club from Gelsenkirchen and the Sauerland-based premium brewer have become reliable partners: Schalke 04 is one of the most popular clubs in the Bundesliga. Today, Brauerei C. & A. VELTINS is a long term co-sponsor of the club and the main sponsor of the VELTINS Arena.
The contract governing naming rights for the VELTINS Arena has been prematurely extended for another ten years until 2027. As VELTINS chief representative Michael Huber summarises, commenting on the continuation of the cooperation, "The VELTINS Arena name is the embodiment of a congenial, sustainable connection with sport - we look forward to the further cooperation".
